As Edinburgh is a popular tourist destination, <strong>we\u2019d advise you to book accommodation early.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-small-font-size\"><strong>UoE Accommodation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University of Edinburgh manages a number of hotels and guest houses all of which are a short walk from campus. You can book UoE managed accommodation by emailing <a href=\"mailto:reservations@ed.ac.uk\">reservations@ed.ac.uk<\/a> (please refer to the discount code &#8216;EVENT&#8217; and include your room preference single\/twin\/double). All rooms include breakfast. Note, cheaper options are likely available elsewhere but we are trying to secure additional internal budget accommodation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-small-font-size\"><strong>Private Accommodation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a tourist destination, there are numerous options for accommodation in Edinburgh that will suit all types of budgets. We recommend consulting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitscotland.com\/destinations-maps\/edinburgh\/accommodation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Visit Scotland<\/a>,\u00a0or popular hotel booking sites\u00a0to find suitable accommodation in the city. There are ample hostels available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostelworld.com\/\">HostelWorld<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are staying as a group, College Wynd flats (5 mins walk) is ~ \u00a3150pp for 4\/5 people sharing a flat for 1-5 September (price from Booking.com). If you&#8217;d like to book, we&#8217;d advise emailing the managing company directly: <a href=\"mailto:reservations.scotland@joivy.com\">reservations.scotland@joivy.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have now set up a Discord Server to find people to share with. You can find a link to the server <a href=\"https:\/\/discord.gg\/8qgF5VrDv\">here<\/a>. <br><br>Good accommodation options can be found in Leith, Morningside, Polwarth, and Gorgie. Check Travelodge, EasyHotel, and Ibis, for the cheapest rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-small-font-size\"><strong> Accommodation<\/strong> outside of Edinburgh<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Glasgow is a 45 minute train ride away and accommodation is generally much cheaper than in Edinburgh (even taking into account the return train ticket). You could also consider staying in Musselburgh (6 mins train), Queensferry (15 mins train), Livingston (18 mins train), Linlithglow (18 mins train), Dunfermline (21 mins), Stirling (39 mins), and other stations in the commuter belt of Edinburgh. Central campus is a 10 minute walk from Waverley Station.
