  1. Lighthouse Bookshop<\/strong> (43-45 West Nicolson Street)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Independent, radical bookshop with a selection of queer and intersectional focus. Walking distance to the conference venue. Must not to be missed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Lavender Menace Archive<\/strong> (St Margaret\u2019s House, 151 London Road)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Scotland\u2019s only dedicated LGBTQ+ books archive. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Typewronger<\/strong> (recently relocated to 22 Bruntsfield Place)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Queer-owned, community-centred bookshop specialized in indie publications, zines & prints. Very cool and charming aesthetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Book Lovers Bookshop<\/strong> (6 Melville Terrace)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Queer and Disabled-owned space that focuses on celebrating romance fiction. Winner of UK\u2019s Indie Bookshop of 2026 by the British Book Awards. Close to the Main Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. Rare Birds Bookshop<\/strong> (13 Raeburn Pl)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dedicated entirely to women\u2019s writing across all genres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. Argonaut Books<\/strong> (5-17 Leith Walk)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Indie community bookshop at the foot of Leith Walk. First Monday of each month hosts a Queer Book Club event to discuss modern and classic queer literature, poetry, and essays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7. Toppings & Company Booksellers of Edinburgh<\/strong> (2 Blenheim Pl)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Large bookshop on Leith Walk with nice view. Not queer-specific but has a queer-focused section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Queer bars & cafes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. Paradise Palms<\/strong> (41 Lothian St)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Camp, open and LGBTQ+ friendly vegetarian caf\u00e9 bar just a few footsteps from the conference venue. A brilliant local queer cabaret called fruit salad (ins: @fruit_salad_edi) happens every Sunday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      2. \u201cPink Triangle<\/strong>\u201d (triangle-shaped area with local gay bars at the top of Leith Walk)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
